AFTER NC TOUR, TWINS PRESIDENT BELL SAYS TRIAD IS "VIABLE"

Twins President Jerry Bell on Tuesday "completed two
days of evaluating stadium options" in NC for potential team
buyer Don Beaver, according to Jay Weiner of the Minneapolis
STAR TRIBUNE. Bell visited Knights Castle stadium outside
of Charlotte which could be the Twins' temporary home in
'99: "I think the Triad is far more viable than I first
believed." Weiner adds that MLB owners "seem to be leaning
toward Charlotte" if the Twins move, but Bell said he was
impressed by data on the smaller Triad region. Beaver is
also searching for a CEO to operate the Twins, if a move is
approved. Bell: "I don't think I'd be interested, but we
haven't really discussed it" (STAR TRIBUNE, 12/10).
