AS EXPECTED, ESPN MAGAZINE FILLS KEY EDITORIAL SPOTS

          ESPN Magazine Editor-in-Chief JOHN PAPANEK formally
     announced the appointment of several editorial execs.  STEVE
     WULF, who spent 20 years at Time Inc., will become Exec Dir
     of ESPN Magazine; LYNN CRIMANDO, formerly the Assistant
     Managing Editor of Money Magazine and Operations Dir at SI,
     was named Managing Editor; and NIK KLEINBERG, formerly the
     Dir of TV & New Media at SI For Kids, will become Dir of
     Photography.  Papanek also announced the addition of TOM
     FRIEND as an L.A.-based Senior Writer.  Friend most recently
     served as the N.Y. Times' West Coast sports correspondent. 
     Former SI Presents Art Dir DARRIN PERRY was named Design Dir
     of the biweekly to launch in March, '98 (ESPN Magazine).
