NAMES IN THE NEWS

          TIGER WOODS will be interviewed by Barbara Walters as
     one of the "10 Most Fascinating People of 1997."  The show
     will air on ABC December 2 (N.Y. POST, 11/18)....VENUS
     WILLIAMS was a guest on the "Late Show" last night. 
     Williams, asked whether she has a lot of friends on the
     tour: "Not necessarily friends. ... this is my first full
     year on tour.  I know some girls on a friendly basis, but
     I'll get to know them better as the years go on."  Williams,
     on her future: "I want to play until I'm 25. ... I want to
     be a designer or an architect" ("Late Show," 11/17). ....NHL
     Kings Owner PHILIP ANSCHUTZ announced that he will donate
     $500,000 to the Kings Care Foundation (Kings).
