The Cowboy's Sports Cafe "is no longer out of bounds"
for Cowboys players, according to Tony Hartzel of the DALLAS
MORNING NEWS. Cafe co-owner Alfredo Roberts said that the
cafe's owners -- all former Cowboys -- and team officials
"have reached an agreement that allows players to visit the
eatery again, ending team owner Jerry Jones' ban." Jones
declined to comment. Roberts said that he worked out
details of the agreement with team VP/Legal Ops Jerry Jones
Jr. As part of the deal, Roberts said that the cafe's
owners have agreed to hire off-duty police officers during
peak evening hours (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 11/18).
MEET THE NEW BOSS, SAME AS THE OLD BOSS? On ESPN's
"NFL Prime Monday," Mitch Albom said, "Will somebody please
tackle Jerry Jones? The self-absorbed Dallas Cowboys owner
almost made his team's comeback Sunday unwatchable with his
incessant yelling and directing on the sideline. ... If he
truly believes his delusion that he could coach the team,
then Jerry, just take the whistle. But shadowing Switzer is
demoralizing and emasculating" (ESPN, 11/17).
