AMF GETS AIR, BUT WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO WITH HIM NOW?

While VA-based AMF Bowling Worldwide "pulled a surprise
by nailing" Michael Jordan as a product endorser for the
next five years with its acquisition of the Michael Jordan
Golf Co., it is "unclear" what the "proposed expansion
plans" are for the golf centers, according to Jim Kirk of
the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. AMF wouldn't comment on specific plans
yesterday. Sources indicate that Jordan, and his golf
company co-Partner Chuck Reeves, "had been looking for more
capital to expand the golf center concept." But sources add
that AMF was "interested mainly in getting Jordan as an
endorser for its bowling products, especially as it goes
forward" with a planned IPO (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/22).
