MAPLE LEAFS COULD BOARD AIR CANADA FLIGHT AFTER ALL

The Maple Leafs will "take a second look at joining the
Raptors" at the Air Canada Centre, according to sources of
Hornby & Harris of the TORONTO SUN. Leafs Project Dir Tom
Anselmi said "there has been no change in the hockey team's
position that Air Canada is not feasible" for the team, but
"in an interesting twist," Anselmi recently toured the Air
Canada site, "something the Raptors have been wanting a
Leafs representative to do for months." Hornby & Harris
note "growing indications" that the other sites the Leafs
have considered "contain more snags than Air Canada."
Sources add that Leafs Chair Steve Stavro "has grown weary
of the arena haggling" and that the team's minority owners
"may press him to explore the Air Canada option." Raptors
Owner Allan Slaight: "If it's true we're on the Leafs' short
list, we're thrilled. We would love to discuss the
possibilities with them" (TORONTO SUN, 10/22).
