MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP: NIKE RALLIES REVISITED

There was little coverage of the demonstrations last
weekend against Nike planned by S.F.-based Global Exchange.
In FL, the Tallahassee DEMOCRAT's Leah Bennet reported that
fans going to Saturday's FSU-GA Tech game passed Nike
protestors who were shouting "Boycott Nike" and holding up
signs depicting the swoosh with blood dripping from it.
Bennet added the protestors "were met both with indifference
and curiosity" (Tallahassee DEMOCRAT, 10/19). Over the
weekend, Nike issued a press release touting and updating
its labor initiatives throughout the world. Nike also
provided additional information at nikeworkers.com (Nike).
NOTES: ANC Sports Enterprises has reached a multi-year
deal with the T-Wolves to provide wall-mounted rotational
and courtside signage at the Target Center starting this
season (ANC Sports)....Nancy Kerrigan has signed a deal with
NY-based Escada Sport to endorse and wear the designer sport
collection at all figure skating events. She will wear the
line at all skating-related events, and Escada will have
rinkside signage at various exhibitions in which Kerrigan
will appear (Escada)....Wise named NY-based PSP Sports
Marketing its primary agency (BRANDWEEK, 10/20 issue).
