ISLANDERS SUE BOSTON MUTUAL OVER CLAIM ON INJURY

          The Islanders have sued Boston Mutual -- an underwriter
     for Lloyds of London -- "for refusing to pay off" 80% of the
     $4.3M remaining on Brett Lindros' salary following his
     retirement in May '96 after a series of severe concussions,
     according to Marc Berman of the N.Y. POST.  Lindros had
     three years left on his five-year contract.  Berman reports
     that Boston Mutual claimed the Isles were "negligent" in
     reporting the concussions Lindros suffered in junior league
     when taking out the disability policy in October '94.  Isles
     co-Chair & CEO Bob Rosenthal: "We believe we gave adequate
     notification to Boston Mutual of prior concussion."  A trial
     date has not been set (N.Y. POST, 9/25).
