EA SPORTS TEES UP FIRST PROFESSIONAL ONLINE GOLF TOUR

          Electronic Arts has announced that it will host the
     first professional online golf tour, the EA SPORTS Tour,
     with more than $60,000 in prize money.  Officially licensed
     by the PGA TOUR, the five Internet-based tournaments will be
     held free-of-charge from September 28 through November 2,
     1997 and are open to any U.S. resident over 18 years of age
     who owns EA SPORTS' PGA TOUR Pro PC CD-ROM game and has
     access to the Internet.  The first three rounds will be
     played by people all over the country over the Internet on
     real PGA TOUR courses including the Pebble Beach Golf Links. 
     Four finalists will then be flown by Electronic Arts to the
     site of that week's PGA TOUR event to compete in the final
     round for a first prize of $2,500.  The fifth week will be
     the EA SPORTS Tour Championship and will boast a $10,000
     first prize.  For more information or to follow all the
