GEORGE SHINN TO APPEAL UNSEALING OF COURT RECORDS

          A SC judge on Monday "decided to unseal court records
     detailing sexual-misconduct allegations against Charlotte
     Hornets owner GEORGE SHINN," according to Reinan, Chandler &
     Suchetka of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.  Circuit Judge John
     Hayes III "gave Shinn's attorneys 24 hours to appeal his
     ruling.  They said they would appeal today.  The appellate
     court could take as long as a week to consider the appeal.
     ... A warrant for last week's search of Shinn's waterfront
     mansion in Tega Cay, S.C., contains a lengthy statement from
     the woman about the morning of Sept. 5, when she claims the
     incident occurred" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/16).  On Friday,
     Shinn's attorney persuaded [Judge Hayes] to seal the search
     warrant and all other information regarding the incident,"
     saying the release would "cause irreparable harm" (Wright &
     Eichel, CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/13).
