WOMEN'S NATIONAL SOCCER ALLIANCE TABS TEAM LOCATIONS

The National Soccer Alliance (NSA) has announced the
eight sites where its proposed women's league will play next
spring: Rutgers Univ.'s Yurcak Field in Piscataway, NJ; the
Univ. of WA stadium in Seattle, WA; Cal State Fullerton's
Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA; Old Panther Stadium in
Dallas suburb Duncanville, TX; WRAL Soccer City Stadium in
     Raleigh, NC; Police Athletic League Stadium in San Jose, CA;
Natick High School Memorial Field in Natick, MA; and
tentatively Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD (NSA).
USA TODAY's Jerry Langdon notes that CA's Titan Stadium is
the largest facility with an 8,900 seat capacity, with
"several facilities" in the 5,000-seat range, while "others
need to be expanded." A 20-game regular season is set to
start April 17, with a championship on July 4 (USA TODAY,
9/11). In a sidebar, Langdon writes that "top players" are
"expected" to earn salaries "in the $30,000 range." A news
conference is expected in mid-October, at which time
sponsors, investors, and player allocations will be
announced. Negotiations are "proceeding" on a TV deal with
"several outlets, including Lifetime" (USA TODAY, 9/11).
