NAMES IN THE NEWS

          A Prince George County, MD, court commissioner has
     issued a criminal summons charging RIDDICK BOWE with
     assaulting his wife (washington post, 8/28)....Ravens WR
     MICHAEL JACKSON opened his record production company, Big
     Play Entertainment, Tuesday in Baltimore (Baltimore SUN,
     8/27)....The relationship between SERGEI FEDOROV, 27, and
     ANNA KOURNIKOVA, 16, was examined in the N.Y. POST.  A
     "high-ranking prosecutorial source" in the Queens District
     Attorney's office: "We are aware of the age difference.  And
     the law is very clear on the matter.  Mr. Fedorov better
     watch his step, or more to the point, he better watch his
     hands" (N.Y. POST, 8/27).  Fedorov told the DETROIT NEWS he
     is "great friends" with Kournikova and "is not concerned
     about reaction to the age difference in their relationship"
     (DETROIT NEWS, 8/28).
