STARTER ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGE: JOHN TUCKER RESIGNS

8.27.1997

          Starter Corp.'s Board of Directors has accepted the
     resignation of President & COO JOHN TUCKER, who is also a
     member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. 
     Starter CEO DAVID BECKERMAN has assumed Tucker's
     responsibilities.  Beckerman: "Over the last few years we
     have not been able to achieve the operating results we
     expected.  Therefore, we believe it is necessary to refocus
     our efforts and streamline our operations in order to best
     position the Company for future growth" (Starter).
