FIRST AND TEN, PART I: SPRINT OFFERS MONDAY NIGHT PROMO

          MO-based Sprint Corp. will mark its NFL telecom
     sponsorship this fall by offering a "Monday Nights Free and
     Clear" long distance and wireless promo.  First-time Sprint
     Sense customers can sign up from September 1-October 6 to
     participate in the program to receive free long distance
     from 7:00-11:00pm every Monday throughout the NFL season. 
     New Sprint PCS (Personal Communication Services) digital
     wireless service who sign up will get free local calling on
     Monday nights, from 7:00-11:00pm, from the date of
     activation through December 29, the last Monday of the year. 
     Sprint will also present its Sprint PCS NFL Skills Pavilion
     at malls in the following cities prior to Monday night
     games: Milwaukee, Oakland, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Denver,
     Indianapolis, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Miami and
     Minneapolis (Sprint).  This is the first "major" NFL promo
     Sprint has run in conjunction with its sponsorship, and the
     company plans to run "an extensive advertising campaign"
     during ABC's "Monday Night Football" (K.C. STAR, 8/26).
          NEWS & NOTES:  The NFL expects more than 600,000 boys
     and girls, ages 8-15, in the U.S., to compete in the '97
     Gatorade Punt, Pass & Kick Competition.  In addition to
     title sponsor Gatorade, Punt, Pass & Kick is supported by
     Hutch, NBC Sports and Sprint (NFL)....FCB, San Francisco,
     has created a new ad campaign for "Fox NFL Sunday" called
     "Fox House '97."  The campaign, a play off MTV's "Real
     World," follows Terry Bradshaw, James Brown, Howie Long and
     Ronnie Lott as they live together in a Malibu beach house. 
     The 22 spots begin airing this week ("Fox NFL Sunday").
