NOTED HECKLER ROBIN FICKER NOT RENEWING HIS WIZARDS TICKETS

NBA fan Robin Ficker, "whose heckling of opposing
players forced the NBA to change its rules on fan behavior,"
did not renew his season tickets, in part because his two
seats directly behind the opposing bench at US Airways Arena
were going to be moved to underneath the basket at the new
MCI Center, according to Thomas Heath of the WASHINGTON POST.
Washington Sports' VP/Communications Matt Williams said
Ficker's $200-per-game seats "for a time were among several
set aside for possible use by physically disabled fans."
Ficker claimed that it "has nothing to do with disability,"
but added that while cost was "a factor," the NBA and Wizards
"wanted to silence him" (WASHINGTON POST, 8/23).
