MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          IL-based Sportmart Inc. reported net income fell 42% in
     the fiscal second quarter to $2.55M, or $.20/share.  That
     compared to $4.43M, or $.35/share in the year-earlier period
     Revenue for the quarter ended August 3 declined 14% to
     $125.3M from $146.1M (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/22)....IL-based
     Racing Champions, a marketer of die cast racing vehicle
     replicas and other adult collectibles has signed a three-
     year extension of its licensing agreement with NASCAR
     (Racing Champions)....IL-based Tommy Armour Golf has signed
     the PGA Tour's Tom Byrum to the Company's Professional Tour
     Staff (Tommy Armour)....Reebok India CEO Muktesh Pant said
     that the Reebok Int'l subsidiary "will break even in the
     next fiscal year."  Part of Reebok's "turnaround strategy"
     includes a new focus on lower-priced footwear ranging from
     $28-42, and a "wider distribution network" (AD AGE, 8/22).
     ...Kellogg USA's Kellogg's Special K cereal will introduce a
     limited-edition series package featuring the '97 WNBA
     Champions.  The first packages will be unveiled after the
     August 30 championship game (Kellogg's)....NFL Properties
     President Sara Levinson, on the NFL-Hasbro partnership:
     "Hasbro has an incredible lineup of divisions, and the array
     of toys and games and the creative talent that is at Hasbro
     is just fantastic and it fits perfectly with what we were
     trying to do."  Hasbro CEO Alan Hassenfield: "By doing this
     together, we're able to really grow a category that I think
     has been undermined for a long time" ("Market Wrap," 8/21).
