STADIUM BOARD FAVORS NEW STADIUM FOR BRONCOS OVER RENOVATION

          In Denver, the stadium board unanimously rejected
     renovation of Mile High Stadium yesterday in favor of a new
     home for the Broncos, according to Ann Imse of the ROCKY
     MOUNTAIN NEWS.  Residents of the six-county metro area
     "likely will be asked next year to extend" the 0.1% sales
     tax for Coors Field to cover the $180M of the estimated
     $240M cost of a new stadium.  The Broncos will pay the other
     $60M (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 8/22).
