MILLER PARK LEASE PLAN GETS FINAL STAMP OF APPROVAL

In Milwaukee, the stadium board completed its financing
plan for the Brewers' new ballpark by adopting a "long-
discussed proposal" to lease $45M worth of equipment,
according to Kenneth Lamke of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL
SENTINEL. The $45M is in addition to the $250M construction
cost of the retractable roof stadium and $72M in
infrastructure costs. Also, administrative costs for the
board's staff and for consulting, legal and other fees will
total $27M by the time the new ballpark opens in 2000.
After that, board administrative costs will be less than $1M
a year (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/22).
