A new interactive racing experience, NASCAR Silicon
Motor Speedway, is being introduced by NASCAR and CA-based
LBE Technologies through a joint licensing agreement. The
first in what will be a nationwide series of NASCAR Silicon
Motor Speedways will debut September 3 in the Bloomington,
MN, Mall of America. Each simulator features an authentic
stock car on a responsive platform, has five 3-D display
systems, realistic controls, and a multi-channel audio
system. Each NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway also includes
pre-race instructions, grandstand spectator seating, a
refreshment area, and a racing merchandise retail area. The
experience lasts approximately 20 minutes and costs $7.50 to
drive and $3 to participate as crew/spotter (NASCAR).
FUN & GAMES: CT-based ASC Games, a developer and
publisher of video games for Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn,
and PC CD-ROM, has signed NASCAR Winston Cup points leader
Jeff Gordon to a video game licensing agreement. As part of
the deal, Gordon will co-produce a racing series with ASC
Games (ASC Games).
