LEAGUE NOTES

The Nuveen Tour was profiled in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
MONITOR by Byron Bradley Davis, who wrote, "The big names
are the bait, the overall presentation is the hook" (CSM,
8/18)....Mark Rypien has sold his share in his Winston Cup
racing-car business, Mark Rypien Motorsports, to Roush
Racing (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 8/18). Also, Geoff Bodine
has sold majority interest in his NASCAR Winston Cup team to
Jim Mattei and John Porter. Mattei is a private investor in
Dallas (USA TODAY, 8/18)....Chronicling the Stanley Cup's
arrival in Moscow, Bob Wojnowski wrote it was "treated with
an indifference that was not wholly unexpected. ... Interest
in the Cup ... is expected to grow as it travels to smaller
town more impassioned about hockey" (DETROIT NEWS, 8/17).
