WILL OLBERMANN'S NEW SHOW'S NAME CAUSE A "BIG" CONFLICT?

While Keith Olbermann's new MSNBC show will be called
"The Big Show," ESPN "is not saying" whether it will sue,
according to Binswanger & Taudte of NEWSWEEK. That name was
used by Olbermann and "SportsCenter" partner Dan Patrick.
NEWSWEEK's Binswanger & Taudte write although MSNBC
"'prematurely' announced the new name last week, MSNBC
lawyers hadn't quite finished reassuring themselves that it
was OK to swipe it. Nor had they made a courtesy call to
ESPN to say it was under consideration." Olbermann: "There
are 20 shows in this country that call themselves 'The Big
Show.' I don't think anyone has any rights to this name
whatsoever -- including us" (NEWSWEEK, 8/18 issue).
