TIMES-UNION PUTS DISCLAIMER ON WEB PAGE TO SETTLE DISPUTE

The NFL, Jaguars and the Florida Times-Union announced
Tuesday "they had settled their dispute" over the
publication's Web site, according to an AP report in the
DETROIT NEWS. On Monday, a disclaimer was added to the top
of the newspaper's Jaguars Web page saying that it is not
the official Jaguars site. Jaguars VP/Marketing Dan Connell
said that the groups "resolved their differences at a
meeting." Connell: "We had a good exchange of ideas and a
better understanding and appreciation of each other's
position" (AP, 8/13). The disclaimer reads: "This site is a
product of the Florida Times-Union and is not affiliated
with the Jacksonville Jaguars or the National Football
League" (THE DAILY). Times-Union Publisher Carl Cannon:
"It's finished as we know it. ... In the end, they wanted to
make sure there was no (live audio and video) coverage of
Jaguars games on our Internet site." Times-Union
photographers will also not have to sign a waiver before
taking photographs of Jaguars' games (FL TIMES-UNION, 8/13).
