TIGERS SOLIDIFY STADIUM CONSTRUCTION ROSTER WITH THREE FIRMS

The Tigers "are expected to sign contracts soon" with
     IN-based Huber, Hunt & Nichols; NC-based Turner
Construction; and MI-based White Construction, to build the
team's new $260M ballpark in Detroit, according to Patricia
Montemurri in the DETROIT FREE PRESS. The Tigers "declined
to comment on the selections," but Montemurri writes that
"sources close to the negotiations confirmed" the choices.
(DETROIT FREE PRESS, 8/12). While the Tigers "are expected"
to announce a groundbreaking in August, Detroit/Wayne County
Stadium Authority Co-Chair Michael Duggan said that "it will
take months" before the land is ready to build on,
"depending on the environmental cleanup needed and the
length of time demolition takes" (DETROIT NEWS, 8/13).
