MEDIA NOTES

NFL, Jaguars and the Florida Times-Union over its Jaguars

restricting what a newspaper puts online will spread" (TAMPA
     TRIBUNE, 8/12)....Last week's Roy Jones-Montell Griffin
fight, to be shown via delayed broadcast this Saturday on
HBO, "was a dismal pay-per-view failure nationally on TVKO,
HBO's pay-per-view division," according to John Whisler of
the SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS. Total numbers were not
complete, but as of the morning of the fight, "there were
only an estimated 50,000 buys nationally" (S.A. EXPRESS-
NEWS, 8/9)....The Golf Channel "plans to launch its service
in Canada by the end of the year" (AD AGE, 8/11 issue).
