FRANCHISE NOTES

Bills Owner Ralph Wilson, on a "perceived lack of
interest" in the team by fans: "It's a major disappointment
to me. (Individual-game) ticket sales are as slow as they
have been in many, many years. They're horrible. ... I
don't know what people are focusing in on. They're not
focusing in on the Bills. ... Even down in training camp,
players say the crowds aren't what they used to be"
(Rochester DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE, 7/28)....With the Capitals'
first game at MCI Center on December 5, season ticket
holders will receive a 10% reduction for all games at US
Airways Arena. The money will "be forwarded to the ticket
     holder's playoff-ticket account" (WASHINGTON POST, 7/31).
...The Nets fined Jayson Williams $10,000 for his GQ article
