          TENNIS WEEK reports that RHB Ventures Chair Ray Benton
     and Sports Plus Chair Sara Fornaciari "are no longer under
     consideration" to take over Anne Person Worcester's position
     as CEO for the Corel WTA Tour in '98 (TENNIS WEEK, 8/1)....A
     doubleheader Sunday at the Reebok Cup soccer tournament at
     Chicago's Soldier Field featuring teams from Germany,
     Colombia, Brazil and Mexico drew 10,414 (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES,
     7/28)....Estimated total attendance at the Greater Hartford
     Open was 290,000, up from 265,000 last year, but down from
     300,000 in '95 and 322,000 in '94 (HARTFORD COURANT, 7/28).
     ...USA TODAY's Hal Bodley reports that the MLB offered
     pensions to 103 former major leaguers who played before the
     '47 pension plan.  Eligible players will receive $10,000 a
     year (USA TODAY, 7/29).
