EAGLES TEAM WITH ALLEGHENY UNIV. HOSPITALS FOR TRAINING CAMP

The Eagles have partnered with Allegheny University
Hospitals in the first entitlement of training camp in NFL
history. The training camp will feature the NFL Experience
-- nine interactive games and activities that take place
over the length of a football field; a food court; daily
contests and promotions; and special events. The team will
also debut Eagles Fan Fair!, an interactive game area.
Eagles training camp runs through August 15 (Eagles).
ULTERIOR MOTIVES? In Philadelphia, Rich Hofmann of the
DAILY NEWS profiled the Eagles' training camp. Hofmann:
"[T]he Allegheny University Hospitals logo is painted on
everything that doesn't move, including the practice fields.
In simpler times, like five years ago, you would sit on the
hill and pack a lunch and watch practice and that was it.
Now it's an extravaganza." Hofmann adds that the deal is
part of an "effort to get somebody to spend millions of
dollars to help build the Eagles a new stadium or a new
practice facility or both" (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 7/23).
