          STEFFI GRAF, in response to published reports which
     said she left the Catholic Church for tax reasons: "My
     decision is based on personal reasons and shall please be
     respected as such.  There is no dispute with the church
     about taxes or anything else.  All church taxes have been
     paid correctly" (Corel WTA Tour)....Knicks C PATRICK EWING
     yesterday at MSG unveiled his new artwork which will appear
     on the Private Issue Card, a credit card by Discovery (N.Y.
     DAILY NEWS, 7/24)....The ROLLING STONES will perform at
     Aloha Stadium the week of January 18, and the show will
     "kick off the festivities" leading up to the NFL Pro Bowl. 
     HA Gov. Ben Cayetano said that NFL officials "have agreed to
     do what they could to ensure that the concert takes place"
     and "are enthused to have the Rolling Stones as the premier
     pre-game event" (HONOLULU STAR-BULLETIN, 7/23).
