          McDonald's taped a new ad at Basketball City in New
     York yesterday featuring the Pistons' Grant Hill and WNBA
     players Theresa Weatherspoon, Michelle Edwards and Cynthia
     Cooper (B-Ball City)....Nike opened its ninth NikeTown over
     the weekend in Boston on Newbury Street (BOSTON GLOBE,
     7/20)....World champion wakeboarder Dean Lavelle signed a
     sponsorship deal with Mountain Dew (AD AGE, 7/21 issue).
     ...FL-based Sports Masters Int'l, a new sports entertainment
     company, has selected NY-based Romann & Tannenholz to handle
     its advertising. Billings were estimated at $3M (N.Y. TIMES,
     7/22)....The WPVA has added AC Delco as a co-sponsor of the
     Evian National Championships in CA August 8-10 (WPVA).
     ...TIME noted the U.S. Postal Service's three-year, $5M,
     sponsorship of a U.S. Pro Cycling Team, which is managed by
     CA-based Montgomery Sports and is competing in the Tour de
     France (TIME, 7/28 issue).
