NFL RELEASES UPDATED WOMEN'S LINE WITH TEN LICENSEES

          The NFL will roll out a national line of apparel for
     women, featuring smaller logos and a different cut from the
     men's line.  After testing in eight markets in '96, ten
     licensees will market exercisewear, sportswear, outerwear,
     sleepwear, headwear and accessories at department stores and
     mass merchants this year. Licensees are Reebok, AZ-based
     Antigua, NJ-based Bentley, WA-based Buffalo Inc., TX-based
     Drew Pearson, MI-based Fit For Sport, NY-based G-III and
     ITP, MO-based Legends and NC-based Moretz (NFL).
          SHOW & TELL: NFLP, Starter and JCPenney team for the
     "JCPenney/Starter Take a Player to School Contest," which
     gives 30 kids the chance to take an NFL player to their
     school.  Kids can enter at 800 JCPenney stores, with winners
     receiving the visit, a $1,000 donation to their school,
     tickets to a game and Starter merchandise (NFL).
          SEASON TIX HERE: Champion will promote its new NFL Pro
     Line Practicewear with a season-ticket giveaway through 600
     JCPenney stores nationwide.  One fan per NFL market will win
     two free season tickets for the '97 season.  Champion NFL
     Practicewear will also be awarded.  The promo is supported
     by in-store materials, JCPenney pre-print circulars, and ads
     in SI, GameDay and regional papers in 14 markets (NFL).
