7.16.1997

          A NY Federal District Court judge awarded the NFL
     damages of $3.2M against Long Island satellite dealers Mark
     and Eric Greenstein.  An investigation revealed the two sold
     residential subscriptions of NFL Sunday Ticket to Long
     Island bars and restaurants, in violation of the federal law
     (NFL)....The Rockies and Coors Field will host the '97 World
     Series of the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities youth
     baseball and softball program sponsored by MLB, Boys & Girls
     Clubs of America and Rawlings (MLB)....In Boston, Frank
     Dell'Apa wrote on MLS and its referees: "The game is in
     danger of being destroyed by a combination of overzealous
     defenders and referees who are either too permissive or
     simply not competent" (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/16).
