OLYMPIC NEWS & NOTES: NBC LOOKS TO BRAND THE NEXT CENTURY

          NBC Sports "is looking for an agency to brand and
     promote its ties" to the Olympic Games it will televise from
     2000-2008, according to AD AGE.  Contenders for the business
     are said to be S.F.-based Citron Haligman Bedecarre; and
     Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; and N.Y.-based Fallon
     McElligott Berlin; Kirshenbaum, Bond & Partners; Cliff
     Freeman & Partners; and Deutsch (AD AGE, 7/7).
          NOTES: SLOC has distributed requests for proposals to
     public and private entities which could develop
     accommodations that would be rented by SLOC and used
     primarily to house news media reps during the 2002 Olympic
     Games.  SLOC is encouraging the development of housing that
     SLOC may rent or arrange for rental during their games
     (SLOC)....The '98 Goodwill Games are expanding their sports
     program to include freestyle wrestling, water polo and
     soccer, bringing the total to 15 (Goodwill Games).
