STADIUM NOTES

          In Denver, the city and the site committee for a new
     Broncos stadium reached a deal Thursday for itemizing
     $220,000 in site-selection costs to be paid by the city. 
     Denver will pay $162,500 in committee costs with an
     additional $57,500 be placed in an escrow account and "paid
     out if the expenses meet a list of categories approved by
     the city" (DENVER POST, 7/11)....The Braves announced
     Thursday that they have lifted the ban on bringing outside
     food into Turner Field.  Canned and bottled drinks are still
     prohibited (USA TODAY, 7/11)....Coyotes Owners Richard Burke
     and Steven Gluckstern's BG Ice LLC has broke ground in
     Scottsdale on a $6.5M practice facility with office space,
     paying $3.05M for the 15-acre site (BUSINESS JOURNAL OF
     PHOENIX, 7/7)....The Cincinnati City Council yesterday
     failed to pass a plan to raise the sports and entertainment
     admissions tax to fund the city's public schools (CINCINNATI
     ENQUIRER, 7/10)....In St. Paul, a 16-member bipartisan
     legislative task force will meet July 24-25 to study funding
     proposals for a new Twins ballpark (STAR TRIBUNE, 7/11).
     ...The Coliseum Authority has raised parking at the
     Charlotte Coliseum to $5, up $1 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 7/11).
