PBA STRIKES DEAL TO MOVE TO CBS AFTER 36 YEARS ON ABC

The Pro Bowlers Tour will switch to CBS next year after
36 years on ABC, according to Dick Evans in the MIAMI
HERALD. CBS will carry eight PBA telecasts as part of a
one-year deal, with CBS holding a two-year option to renew.
The PBA previously signed a three-year deal with ESPN to
televise 14 events a year. The length of the Saturday
afternoon network show will be reduced from 90 minutes to 60
minutes. Evans reports that no rights money is involved and
the PBA will produce the shows (MIAMI HERALD, 6/29).
