          Olivier Saint-Jean, the NBA Kings' first-round draft
     pick, 11th overall, is being represented by Paco Belassen of
     GP Group Sports Inc. (THE DAILY)....The 17,780 fans who saw
     the Liberty's WNBA home opener against the Mercury was a
     single-game attendance record for women's pro basketball in
     the United States (NEWSDAY, 6/30)....The NHRA's attendance
     estimate of 101,300 for the Sears Craftsman Nationals is the
     largest for any inaugural event in NHRA history (ST. LOUIS
     POST-DISPATCH, 6/30)....Acting Commissioner Bud Selig
     announced that MLB will investigate the domestic abuse
     allegations facing Red Sox OF Wilfredo Cordero (MLB)....
     Orlando is the "leading candidate" to host the '98 MLS All-
     Star Game, "according to several sources in the league." 
     MLS' VP/Marketing Paul Phillips and VP/Finance Jeff Farron
     toured the Citrus Bowl on Friday and "are in negotiations
     with Disney" (Tim Turner, ORLANDO SENTINEL, 6/28).
