STADIUM NOTES

          In Toronto, reps of Maple Leaf Gardens and the City of
     Toronto met late yesterday "in a last-ditch effort to
     breathe life back into aborted plans" for a C$300M arena at
     Union Station.  Leafs board member Larry Tanenbaum: "We're
     still talking, so that's a good sign" (TORONTO SUN, 6/27).
     ...In S.F., unanimous votes by two city commissions "set the
     stage for groundbreaking by late October" on the MLB Giants'
     new ballpark (S.F. CHRONICLE, 6/27)....In St. Louis, Busch
     Stadium's food service company, Sportservice Corp., is
     introducing a "trendy new menu" for patrons in luxury suites
     and in dining rooms in the Stadium Club and MLB Cardinals'
     Club Lounge.  Sportservice Corp. Brenda Follmer: "We've
     tested this in Boston and in Buffalo, and fans say this is
     what they want" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 6/25).
