Although Hank Goldberg's suspension has ended at FL
radio station WQAM, Goldberg "will not be back on the air
today," and WQAM part-Owner & GM Greg Reed "says it's '50-
50' whether Goldberg will return to WQAM at all," according
to Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD. Reed said Wednesday
he will decide in the next week "whether to dismiss
Goldberg, who has angered Reed by making personal attacks at
several targets, including some associated with" Wayne
Huizenga. Goldberg was scheduled to begin a vacation
Friday, but Jackson reports that "Reed is having Goldberg
begin that (with pay) today, through at least July 6."
Reed, on Goldberg's future: "We're evaluating the whole
relationship (with Goldberg)." Sandy Bohrer, Goldberg's
attorney: "Hank's ready to go to work (today). I don't
understand what's going on" (MIAMI HERALD, 6/26).
RETURN DATE? In Ft. Lauderdale, Tom Jicha reports that
Goldberg will be back on the air on Monday, July 14. WQAM
Program Dir Duff Lindsey said the new return date "is a
result of practical considerations, not additional
punishment." Goldberg will be covering a horse race in
Atlantic City for ESPN this weekend (SUN SENTINEL, 6/26).
