          The WNBA L.A. Sparks' LISA LESLIE was a guest on the
     "Tonight Show" last night.  Leslie, on male reporters in the
     locker room: "Hey, it's open to the press.  You see what you
     see" ("Tonight Show," NBC, 6/24)....Mavs Owner ROSS PEROT
     JR. was profiled by Neal Templin in the WALL STREET JOURNAL. 
     Templin, on Perot, Jr.: "He doesn't have his father's folksy
     manner or his distinctive twang, but the 38-year old Mr.
     Perot shares his dad's vision for big projects, his power to
     persuade and his love of control" (WALL STREET JOURNAL,
     6/25)....Nike VP/Marketing LIZ DOLAN was named the '97 WISE
     Woman of the Year at a luncheon in N.Y. yesterday (WISE).
     ...NBC's MARV ALBERT has hired Miami-based attorney ROY
     BLACK to handle his pending sexual assault case in VA.  DC-
     based attorney GERALD TREANOR removed himself voluntarily
     from the Albert case (WASHINGTON POST, 6/25)....SHAQUILLE
     O'NEAL, on the filming of "Steel," opening in August: "I was
     in a hot steel mill, 2400 degrees.  Hot metal could've
     dripped on my toes and ended everything" ("ET," 6/24).
     ...ESPN's DAN PATRICK, on the Indians' CHAD OGEA and DAVID
     JUSTICE being put on the D.L.: "It's not often when you find
     Justice and 'O.J.' used in the same sentence" (ESPN, 6/24).
