HARRIS COUNTY CLOSE TO CLEARING OILERS' MOVE?

          Harris County Commissioners "are expected to give
     approval" Tuesday to a $5M deal "that would let the Oilers
     leave Houston a year before their lease expires," according
     to John Williams of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE.  That would leave
     the Oilers "needing permission only" from the city of
     Houston before moving to Tennessee for this season.  In
     return for Harris County letting the team out of its lease,
     it will retain "its right to sue the NFL on anti-trust
     claims that the league's monopolistic tendencies restrict
     the location of franchises" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/21).
          CRAWLING IN MEMPHIS: The CHRONICLE's John McClain:
     "Early reports from Tennessee say tickets to Oilers games at
     the Liberty Bowl in Memphis are moving about as fast as West
     Loop traffic at rush hour" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/21).
