SLOC PERSONNEL: HALLERAN TO CONSULT ON TRAFFIC CONCERNS

Thomas Halleran has been hired as a consultant to the
SLOC and will be responsible for preparing "a good
transportation system" for the 2002 Winter Games in Salt
Lake City, according to Mike Gorrell of the SALT LAKE
TRIBUNE. Halleran has worked four Olympics as well as other
events including World Cup soccer and the Rose Bowl and "was
one of more than a dozen people reviewed for the position,
whose budget is about $36 million." Halleran is being
brought on as a "full-time consultant," and will keep his
job as a Senior VP of CA-based Forsythe & Associates, a
transportation management company. That arrangement "allows
him to retain retirement benefits and have a job in five
years, after the Olympics" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 6/17).
