STRANGE AND TRUE STADIUM NEWS ON FRIDAY THE 13TH

In S.F., a "zealous" 49ers fan was charged with two
felony counts of voter fraud from the June 3 election,
according to Ramon McLeod of the S.F. CHRONICLE. Precinct
captain John Griffin "allegedly voted twice by faking
another man's name." He told investigators he was "worried
about the outcome" of the vote and the future of the team.
DA spokesperson John Shanley said when investigators went to
Griffin's home, "there was Niners memorabilia and red
everywhere." Shanley: "He is apparently a very dedicated
     fan" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 6/13).
NOT IN OUR HOUSE: The Tampa City Council voted 5-0
yesterday to "investigate whether it's possible to ban
athletes convicted of major drug offenses from playing for
pay" in a publicly owned stadium (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 6/13).
