NETWORK PROGRAMMING NOTES: LEAGUE FINALS BEGIN THIS WEEKEND

          On Saturday night, Fox Sports begins coverage of the
     Stanley Cup Finals between the Red Wings-Flyers.  Fox will
     carry Games One, Five and Seven.  ESPN will carry the rest.
     For Fox, Mike Emrick and John Davidson will call the action.
     For ESPN, it will be Gary Thorne and Bill Clement (THE
     DAILY).  USA TODAY's Rudy Martzke notes that Fox will "try
     to have FoxTrax" show the speed of the puck and "the
     reaction time of the goalie" in its Stanley Cup coverage
     (USA TODAY, 5/30).  During Game One, Laura Wall from CA,
     will attempt to win $1M in the MasterCard $1 Million Stanley
     Cup Shot Sweepstakes (Fox).  
          NBA FINALS: NBC Sports will present "NBA Finals Post
     Game" wrap up on CNBC.  The 30-minute show will begin Sunday
     with Game One of the Jazz-Bulls and follow every game.  It
     will be anchored by Hannah Storm (CNBC).
          NCAA WORLD SERIES: ESPN will unveil MaskCam, built into
     an umpire's mask, during its coverage of the College World
     Series, starting tonight.  The camera will be used primarily
     for replays (ESPN).  CT-based Total Sports and Host
     Communications will cybercast the World Series live over the
     Internet at www.NCAABaseball.com (Total Sports). 
     CBS.SportsLine will also offer browsers coverage of the
     week-long event (CBS.SportsLine).
          COCA-COLA 600: TBS' coverage of last Sunday's NASCAR
     Coca-Cola 600, which included a two-hour rain delay, earned
     a 5.0 cable rating, the highest rated Coca-Cola 500 in
     history and the highest rated motorsports event in TBS
     history.  The race was up 9% from '96 (NASCAR).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft
