CHAPPLE OUT AS PRESIDENT & CEO OF CANUCKS/GRIZZLIES PARENT

John Chapple resigned Wednesday as President & CEO of
Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, parent of the Canucks and
Grizzlies, according to Tony Gallagher of the Vancouver
PROVINCE. Gallagher reports that "it is believed" that
Chapple and Orca Bay Deputy Chair Stan McCammon "have been
at loggerheads over some issues for much of" Chapple's two
years in Vancouver. Sources told Gallagher that during
Chapple's leave of absence after the season, "some of
Chapple's people were ousted, or at least had their
positions weakened." Chapple will be transferred to Orca
Bay Capital in Seattle. Gallagher writes that "most
perceive this latest move" will "strengthen" Canucks
President & GM Pat Quinn's "hand, given McCammon seems to be
     a backer" (Vancouver PROVINCE, 5/29).
