          InterZine Productions, publisher of THE SPORTS BUSINESS
     DAILY, has launched a new site on the World Wide Web for
     mountain bikers.  The site can be accessed http://www.iBike.
     com (THE DAILY)....Preliminary overnights for NBC's NBA
     Playoff coverage over Memorial Day weekend averaged a 9.3,
     down 6% from '96.  TNT finished its NBA Playoff action with
     a 3.6 rating, up 12% from '96 (USA TODAY, 5/28)....U.S. Rep.
     Charles Schumer, (D-NY), called on the U.S. Justice
     Department and the FTC to block Cablevision Systems' planned
     takeover of MSG, saying that "the merger would mean higher
     cable costs for New York-area sports fans."  Cablevision, in
     a statement, offered to meet with Schumer to discuss his
     concerns (NEWSDAY, 5/27).
