NFL GIVING OUT SUPER BOWLS LIKE CANDY IF 49ERS STADIUM OK'D

          NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue yesterday delivered to
     San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown a letter from NFL owners
     that "reconfirmed their commitment" that the city would host
     a Super Bowl if a new stadium is built, according to Edward
     Epstein in the S.F. CHRONICLE.  The letter said the city
     would host a Super Bowl "within 18 to 30 months of the
     opening of a new stadium, but prior to 2004."  Tagliabue
     added that "San Franciscans can have a high degree of
     confidence that in addition to this game, there will be two
     more during the bonded indebtedness.  Or maybe more." 
     Epstein adds the "likely life of the bonds" will be 25 to 30
     years (S.F. CHRONICLE, 5/23).
