LOGO FOR 2002 OLYMPICS RECEIVES FINAL IOC APPROVAL

          The logo for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City
     was approved Wednesday in Monte Carlo by the IOC, according
     to Mike Gorrell of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE.  Gorrell writes
     that the SLOC must now "establish international trademark
     rights so that the logo can be a linchpin in the Organizing
     Committee's joint marketing plan" with the USOC.  SLOC
     officials said that the logo would be unveiled "near the
     shopping-heavy Labor Day Weekend" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 5/22).
