STADIUM NOTES

          In an independent report released Tuesday, Atlanta-
     based construction firm Hanscomb estimated the cost of
     remodeling Mile High Stadium at $127.5M.  On Monday, stadium
     architect HOK Sport, which was retained by the city of
     Denver, estimated remodeling the stadium would cost $201.6-
     210.6M (DENVER POST, 5/21)....The Maryland Stadium Authority
     last week approved a $4.75M contract with MI-based American
     Seating for 67,822 plastic and iron chairs to be installed
     in the Ravens' new stadium (Baltimore SUN, 5/21)....Texas
     Motor Speedway is spending $4M on track improvements,
     including the addition of 5,400 paved parking spaces, and a
     shuttle bus center.  An editorial in the FT. WORTH STAR-
     TELEGRAM remarked, "Greater consideration should also be
     given to the use of mass transit to get thousands of fans to
     the speedway" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 5/21).
