SHARKS ICE DEAL WITH A-B FOR CATEGORY EXCLUSIVITY

5.20.1997

          The Sharks announced yesterday that they have reached a
     multi-year sponsorship agreement with A-B for Bud Ice to
     become "The Official Beer Sponsor of the San Jose Sharks." 
     The agreement provides A-B category exclusivity for alcohol
     beverage products with regard to Sharks/Arena advertising,
     promotions and logo usage.  A-B will also play a "major"
     role in supporting The Sharks Foundation through title
     sponsorship of The Sharks Annual Golf Classic (Sharks).
