BUCS COMMITTED TO TAMPA AS LEASE CHANGE GIVES BACK $30M

The Bucs "formally agreed Tuesday to a change demanded
by the city and county to their lease on a new football
stadium," according to Joe Henderson of the TAMPA TRIBUNE.
The lease change would provide "at least" $30M over the term
of the lease back to the Tampa Sports Authority (TSA). Bucs
VP Joel Glazer "made it clear" the Bucs aren't talking to
other cities "as a backup" if the lease "falls through
because of a legal challenge." Glazer: "L.A. is not on the
back burner. We are here in Tampa. We are here to stay for
30 years." The Hillsborough County Commission is set to
"review" today whether to back part of a "nearly" $10M loan
to continue construction until July, when a ruling on the
complaint filed by former Tampa Mayor Bill Poe is expected
from the FL Supreme Court. The Tampa City Council also has
to approve the loan to the TSA (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 4/16).
