ARE BUCS WILLING TO SHARE THE BUCKS WITH SPORTS AUTHORITY?

The Bucs "appear willing to accept at least" $30M in
lease concessions "in an effort to keep construction going"
at the new stadium, according to Joe Henderson of the TAMPA
TRIBUNE. According to several Hillsborough County
commissioners, if former Mayor Bill Poe "drops his legal
battle against the stadium, the Bucs will eliminate a
controversial lease clause allowing them to keep" the first
$2M annually from other events at the facility, sharing the
revenue with the Tampa Sports Authority over the 30-year
lease instead. County Administrator Dan Kleman, who has
called for stadium construction to stop if the Bucs don't
amend their lease by Wednesday, said he had no "firm, legal,
binding commitment" from the team (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 4/15).
